The island of Vepsä was known as a hiding place for smugglers. Vepsa is now known as a popular day-trip destination and a recreational area of the City of Turku. The island of Vepsa is located in the middle of Airisto. The island is a great day-trip destination, from which several waterbusses take off from Turku daily. A magnificent 27 m above sea level cliff, is worth hiking. Beautiful scenery can be seen in the direction of Satava, Nauvo and Rymättylä.

 

Vepsa has a safe sand beach, a kiosk, a café-restaurant and rentable saunas, boats and canoes. For longer stays there are also accommodation options such as holiday cottages.
The island has a café-style restaurant and a summer kiosk, which are open during regular daily water bus transport. The restaurant serves a daily lunch as well as an adult and children's a la carte list.
